Floppy disks, IDE drives, IOMega cartridges, optical discs, tape — if it’s old, orphaned, or unreadable on anything you own today, EJB Technology Support can recover it and hand it back in a format you can actually use. It’s a niche we’ve kept alive on purpose: hands-on technical work since 2010, and real experience with the kind of pre-internet-era hardware most shops threw out years ago.
What we read
5.25″ and 3.5″ floppies, IOMega Zip and Jaz cartridges, IDE/PATA and SCSI drives, CDs and DVDs (including scratched), magneto-optical media, and older flash and memory cards. Got something not on this list? Ask — we keep the drives and adapters to match.
Services
- Data Retrieval — Pulling readable data off aging or failing media, handled one device at a time so nothing gets rushed or lost in a batch.
- Conversion & Migration — Old file formats converted to current ones, and data moved off obsolete drives onto modern storage you can open today.
- Recovery from Damaged Media — Cleaning, careful repair, and best-effort recovery from deteriorating or partially-failed media. No guarantees on physically dead drives — but we’ll be honest about the odds before you spend a dollar.
- Backup & Delivery — Recovered data delivered on a new drive, USB, optical disc, or secure download, plus a backup copy if you want one.
- Secure Handling — Your media is handled in-house and never shipped off to a third-party lab. Drives are wiped after delivery on request, and an NDA is available for sensitive jobs.
How it works
- Get a quote — Tell us what you’ve got: type of media, rough quantity, and what you need back. We’ll give you a clear, flat estimate, not a vague range.
- Send it in — Most jobs come to us by mail. Pack it up and ship it, or arrange a drop-off at our Bristol office by appointment. We’ll send simple packing instructions either way.
- Extraction — We read each device with the right hardware for the format and verify what came off before doing anything else.
- Convert & deliver — Files converted if needed, then delivered on your choice of new media or secure download.
- Return — Your original media comes back to you, or gets securely destroyed — your call. Nothing is kept without your say-so.
